We are grateful for our area business and industry partners who hire and train our high school students in a wide variety of career areas throughout our community. As I become aware of business partners hiring for openings, I will post job announcements. Jobs labeled Internships are specifically for students eligible for the Work-Based Learning program.

American Woodmark a kitchen cabinet manufacturer in Jackson, GA hires students for pre-production work who are eligible for Work-Based Learning. 
 
 
Berry's Sporting Goods
Berry's has an opening for a sales associate to help with stocking merchandise, assisting customers with purchases, organizing, and social media.

Brightmoor Hospice provides internship opportunities for our students.
Tasks include general clerical duties i.e. filing, scanning, copying, preparing informational materials, as well as other care related tasks.
Applicants are preferably in a Healthcare pathway planning to pursue a healthcare related career.

​Child care centers are in need of students to work as assistants in classrooms. Job tasks include supervising young children to provide safe learning environment, assisting lead teacher with a variety of classroom tasks, following all safety and sanitation practices, etc. Interested applicants should have child care related experience. Caterpillar hires high school juniors and seniors through the WBL program. Students are trained as Production Student Trainees, pre-assembly line tasks and may be eligible to continue to full-time employment with Caterpillar after high school graduation. WBL Internship A local counseling center has openings for a WBL intern to work in their office. ​Job tasks include office tasks including filing charts, data entry, faxing, copying, and scanning, answering phones, giving office tours, and greeting clients. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, set and meet deadlines, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organized, creative,  self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Student must be eligible for the WBL program.
 
The City of Griffin provides WBL intern opportunities with departments including Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment, Economic Development, and others.

Griffin-Spalding County Schools has internships for WBL students in the following areas each year: Administrative Technology, Athletic Training, Maintenance (i.e. plumbing, electrical, hvac, etc.), Nutrition, Transportation, Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Program Challenge, After School Program, and CTAE.
