Dr. Norman C. Sauce III began serving the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) in the position of Executive Director of Student Support Services in July 2021. In this role, he supervises and supports the Departments of Student Services, Exceptional Students (Special Education), Mental Health and Positive Student Supports, and the District's Counseling Program. From July 2017-June 2021, Dr. Sauce served GSCS as the Executive Director of Elementary Education. In that role, Dr. Sauce supervised and supported all elementary school principals within GSCS, and the District's Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program, and elementary Gifted Education program. He also monitored and supported the elementary counseling program. Prior to joining GSCS in 2017, he served as a high school principal within the DeKalb County School District, and as an elementary principal within Fulton County Schools. Before moving to Georgia, he served as an assistant principal and social studies teacher at schools in his native Southern California. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Southern California, his Master of Education degree from the University of California Los Angeles, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University Long Beach. Dr. Sauce is the proud husband and father to his wife and twin boys.
