Thank you for your interest in the Griffin-Spalding County School System’s KIDS IN ACTION Elementary After-School Program (ASP)!  Students must be enrolled in the Griffin Spalding County School district to participate in the afterschool program. We cannot accept applications for students until they have completed the registration process through Central Registration. Our program is a place where children can have positive interactions with peers and adults, learn positive social skills, have a nutritious snack and participate in enrichment activities that promote proper child development. We would love for you and your child to become part of our ASP family. Announcements:
1) Lottery held on July 22, 2022. All parents with selected children have been notified. Students not selected are on the waitlist.
2) Waitlist: Parents will be contacted as vacancies become available. Complete the waitlist form to be added to the waitlist.
3) Hiring: We are actively hiring for the  afterschool. Hiring staff will allow us to remove students from the waitlist. Please apply and share with others that we are hiring. Rate of pay for afterschool workers is currently $10 per hour.  We also have openings for two site coordinators and one specialist at central office.

Mission: To provide our children with quality programming that strives to meet each child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs in a safe, nurturing environment.

Program Site Locations: Programs are currently located at the following elementary schools: Cowan Road, Crescent, Futral Road, Jordan Hill, Moreland Road and Orrs. Students attending Anne Street, Atkinson, Beaverbrook, Jackson Road and Moore may also participate in the program. Anne Street and Moore students are transported to Orrs. Atkinson students are transported to Jordan Hill. Beaverbrook students are transported to Cowan Road. Jackson Road students are transported to Futral Road. Our program serves PK-5th grade students. *Please note that program locations are determined by enrollment numbers and may be subject to change depending on the needs assessed for the opening of school.

Times of Operation: The program operates each day school is in session from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Daily Schedule: The daily schedule includes a nutritious snack, a designated homework/academic time and planned enrichment activities.

Registration: The registration fee is $10.00 per child per school year.

Tuition: Tuition is $50.00 per week for the first child and $30.00 for each additional child.  Tuition is due by Monday of the week of service. If tuition is paid after Monday of the week of service, a late fee of $15.00 will be charged regardless of the reason the payment was late. If payment is not received by Friday of the week of service, the child will not be able to attend the program until the balance is paid in full. Bi-weekly and monthly payments are accepted. Discounts are given for weeks that include school holidays at a rate of $5.00 per day/per child. *Please note that we are not offering drop-in registration at this time. 
 
Registration Process: Students must be enrolled in the Griffin Spalding County Schools district before completing any paperwork for the afterschool program. Parents/Guardians must complete an ASP Form of Interest indicating that they would like for their child to attend the program. After the lottery, applications and parent agreement must be completed and the $10 registration must be paid to be administered into the program.
  • All ASP Forms of Interest that have been completed by July 20, 2022 will be placed in the lottery on July 22, 2022. Parents will then be notified that 1) their child has been accepted and they will be given directions on how to complete the registration process or 2) their child has been placed on a waiting list and will be contacted when an opening is available.
  • Any Form submissi of Interest received after July 20, 2022 will be placed on the waiting list in the order they are received. The parent will be notified if an opening is or becomes available.
Registration applications and parent agreement must be completed long with the $10 registration fee each school year for the child to participate in the program.
