Some activities of public relations in the department include: - using planned approaches to public relations,
- managing the website for the Griffin-Spalding County School System,
- creating multiple communication tools for internal and external use,
- coordinating "Tour of Schools" events for realtors, government officials, and other interest groups,
- assisting in coordinating system-wide events,
- meeting with community interest groups on a regular basis for stakeholder feedback,
- and producing weekly radio programs on WKEU 1450 and WHIE 1320.
