School Councils
Each school has a School Council to serve the needs of the school and community.
The intent of School Councils is to:
- Bring communities and schools together
- Solve difficult education problems
- Improve academic achievement
- Provide support for teachers & administrators
- Bring parents into the school-based decision-making process
The responsiblity of School Councils are to:
- Maintain school-wide perspective
- Participate regularly in Council meetings
- Participate in information & training sessions
- Act as a link between Council & community
- Encourage participation of parents and others in school community
- Work to improve student achievement & performance
